EUDR
The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a significant legislative measure aimed at curbing deforestation and forest degradation linked to the production of certain commodities. The EUDR will set stringent rules to ensure that products such as cattle, coffee, palm oil, and timber entering or leaving the EU market are deforestation-free and comply with local legal requirements in their country of origin.
Replacing EUTR
This regulation will replace the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and introduces comprehensive due diligence obligations for operators and traders to prevent deforestation-linked products from being traded within the EU. Implementation has been delayed, with a likely target date of December 2025.
